Mercedes Benz dealers work in partnership with the Motability scheme to help people with reduced mobility or a disability get behind the wheel of a new Mercedes Benz. Mercedes Benz currently offer a great range of premium cars through the scheme, including the Mercedes-Benz A Class, the B Class and the all-new Mercedes Benz GLA.
The Mobility Allowance is a separate benefit created to assist with the increased expenses that many persons with disabilities encounter as a result of their impairments.
The worry-free package for a Motability car includes:
insurance coverage for up to three specified drivers
Your preferred Motability dealer will perform all service and upkeep. The RAC will provide full breakdown coverage.
Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) is not required for vehicles under the Motability Scheme.

Choose a Motability Car

Choose a Motability WAVs
Wheelchair users can travel in their chairs as either passengers or drivers in Wheelchair Accessible Cars (WAVs), which are vehicles that have been professionally modified by an authorized converter. WAVs can be ordered in a wide variety of configurations to suit the specific mobility requirements of wheelchair users.

The Motability Scheme is open to everyone who currently receives a Mobility Allowance, not only those who can drive. The Mobility Allowance recipient does not have to be one of the named drivers; Motability will cover up to three people to operate the vehicle.

Are there Motability Restrictions?
Mobility Allowance is all that Motability asks.
So, for instance, if you were doing the disabled person’s shopping, you could drive the automobile to the grocery store. They would not have to accompany you.
For the duration of the lease, Motability also asks that drivers abide by a few extra rules. These consist of:
Not utilizing the car for delivery or as a taxi.
Not operating the car while prohibited from driving.
not giving the car to anyone else.
Not operating the vehicle in a way that would be detrimental to the disabled person.
That the driver always takes good care of the car.
