Without a doubt undoubtedly, the car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has always been a step ahead of the curve. The team is usually the first to pioneer revolutionary and timeless designs. The car manufacturer is among the few that can boast that their cars age like fine wine if well-dined, I mean serviced. Their talent is broad and their cup always seems to be overflowing with brilliant ideas

The popular 2015 Mercedes-Benz C250 ‘W205’ is a true embodiment of a compact luxury car; lightweight, compact and powerful. Undergoing a total make-over from its predecessors, the sleek machine comes out as an aggressive, youthful and modern sports car. The vehicle performs well, drives better, quite roomier and is technologically endowed for its price. In terms of safety, the C250 ticks most if not all of the boxes, with its nine airbags, stability control, parking sensors, reversing camera, blind spot monitors and collision-avoidance braking. As usual the vehicle is awarded a five-star rating by the Euro NCAP crash-test regime.

Interior

The interior feels quite modern, youthful and uncluttered. Having done away with the buttons of the older models, the car now features a more streamlined instrument panel, similar to some made a year or two after it, like the 2016 GLC 250. That just proves that the car’s design was way ahead of its time. The classy interior features a floating 7-inch screen elevated in the center, controlled by a dial and touchpad found just in front of the center console. Its positioning makes it easy to use while keeping your eyes ahead and the other hand in control of the wheel. Leather upholstery and comfortable seating make the car a pleasure to be in and a spacious backseat means the young kids won’t be fighting for the front seat. But I bet if I were to be a child again, my sister would still have it rough as I’d still battle for the front seat. The front seats deliver excellent support, pampering long-distance comfort and ample adjustability.

The relocation of the gear from the traditional center console to the steering wheel column results in more space. The Artico leather, though not genuine, is quite convincing that only a few people can tell it’s not( Artico stands for artificial leather). The interior definitely deserves an eight out of ten. I just can’t give it a ten simply because there’s always room for improvement

Exterior

The C250 was built to stand out. The vehicle has a sporty – yet refined, elegant and an aggressive exterior. It also comes standard with alloy rims, fog lights, daylight running lights and chrome trim. From the outside, the C-Class features smooth and flowing lines that run from the proud three-point star around the embossed side beltline and to a neatly concealed boot cavity.

Drive

On a highway cruise, with everything set to Comfort and the stereo turned up, the C-Class is incredibly refined. When you’re pretending to be Lewis Hamilton, the machine handles it perfectly. The cornering hard, the car takes it like a champ! The powerful brakes have a torque-vectoring feature, which smoothly pinches the rear brakes to help turn the nose into bends. However, let’s get more practical with the analogy, we aren’t auditioning the car for the movie franchise “The Fast and The Furious.”
The 2.0-litre direct-injection turbocharged four-cylinder engine produces 211 Hp @ 5500 rpm. The torque is also incredible, 350 Nm @ 1200-4000 rpm. Its consumption is quite economical. Within the urban setting, you can get a consumption of about 13km/l and on the highway you can get a consumption of about 18km/l. Though this is heavily dependent on how heavy one’s foot is on the pedal. The 7 G-Tronic transmission gives you a smooth driving experience, you probably won’t notice the gears changing.

Overall, the C250 handles well. We have a similar unit retailing at our showroom along Ngong’ road, near Junction mall. You can contact us on +254705798117 to book a test-drive or schedule an appointment with us.
