The C-Class is a compact luxury sedan with a new look for 2022, including a larger grille, new headlights, and more aggressive styling. It offers a choice of two turbocharged four-cylinder engines, a 2.0-liter with 255 horsepower or a 2.0-liter with 416 horsepower in the AMG C63 S model, which is quite contrary to the conventional way previous AMG engines are designed.
Exterior Design:
The 2022 C-Class features a new, more aggressive design with a larger grille and new headlights. The sedan is slightly longer and wider than the outgoing model, with a sleeker, sportier profile. The S-Class inspired looks gives the car a newer, more refined look if you ask me. Type of look that would make you feel like you’re driving a S-Class despite the sizeable price gap.
Interior:
The interior of the C-Class has been completely redesigned, with a new dashboard and center console. It features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch infotainment screen that is mounted in portrait orientation. The interior also features a new steering wheel with capacitive touch controls. The digital-gauge display and touch-sensitive controls gives it an edge even though it’s late to the party. The Brits at Land Rover introduced the touch-sensitive infotainment systems in their 2017 models. The steering wheel is also similar to that of the S-Class. This particular vehicle offers nothing but luxury.
A large, 12.3-inch vertically oriented infotainment display similar to the one in the S-Class sedan sweeps up from the center console and toward a trio of round air vents on the upper dashboard. The touchscreen is tilted slightly toward the driver for easier use while driving and runs the most up-to-date version of Mercedes’s MBUX infotainment system— complete with the voice-activated digital assistant, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and online access via a Wi-Fi hotspot. All models also come with an 11.9-inch digital gauge display and a fingerprint sensor to authenticate the driver’s unique profile for memory settings. So if you share the car with your better half, both of you can have preferred settings set according to one’s liking. A head-up display, a wireless smartphone charging pad, an ambient lighting system, and a Burmester surround sound stereo system are all optional extras.
Engine Performance and Drive:
The 2022 C-Class comes with a choice of two turbocharged four-cylinder engines. The C300 features a 2.0-liter engine with 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, while the AMG C43 features a more powerful 3.0-liter engine with 385 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque.
Both engine options come standard with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The C300 comes standard with rear-wheel drive, while the AMG C43 comes standard with all-wheel drive.
Within the city the 2.0-liter engine give a consumption of 10km/litre and on the highway the consumption can go up to 15km/litre which is quite generous considering the power one gets to enjoy.
Safety:
The C-Class is equipped with a range of advanced safety features, including automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and one of the coolest features includes an adaptive cruise-control system that utilizes navigation data to adjust the vehicle’s speed for upcoming curves and roundabouts. It should be noted that even with all the safety features, one should be careful and note that they are in control of the car, not the other way round. It would be sad to see such a car in the repair shop having a nose-cut fix yet the car had many safety features.
Overall, the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a luxurious and sporty compact sedan that offers a range of advanced technology features and powerful engine options. If interested in purchasing such a unit, reach us out on +254 705 798117 or email us on info@eliteautos.co.ke.
